2Sketches4U - Laura's sketch #16

Shhhh! It's the DH's bday and this is his card. His birthday is tomorrow and I don't want him to see his card yet, but I had to post it for Laura's sketch this week. I feel like you don't see too many "guy" cards so I thought I would use this one for the sketch this week. TFL!! (and shhhhhh......don't let the cat out of the bag!).

He Loves Me........

Here we go...........starting my Valentines Day cards. This one is for Kazan's sketch #16 over at 2Sketches4u. I thought I would kill 2 birds at a time by participating in some challenges while getting my cards done. The hearts are punched from the Martha Stewart punch. The scalloped circle is cut with the Cricut, using the Mini Monograms cartridge. TFL!

It's over............

Well, Christmas has come and gone and what a great Christmas it was! I got to spend 5 entire days with Maggie! She was so sweet and fun and she loved all her gifts from Grammy and Pops. She especially likes her Dora the Explorer ride on toy. Her parents push her around the house and she loves it! My DH got me 3 new Cricut carts for Christmas.........YEA!! I also got some new scissors (sticky free!), some new craft storage boxes and a few gift cards to buy MORE scrappy things!! Don't you just love Christmas?!! Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing all of your great designs in the coming year. I hope to be a part of more challenges in 2009. I've got my scrappy room pretty organized now, so I should be able to work a little better. Well, now it's on to Valentines Day cards. It never ends does it? Thank goodness!!
Happy New Year everyone!!

Yet another birthday...........

WOW! I think I may have one more bday card after this one. December has been a busy month for birthday's!! This one is for a friend. I used the Cricut Celebrations cart for the hat. I used the Fiskars threadingwater punch for the trim and the paper is My Minds Eye. TFL!!

Another birthday...........

Seems there are so many birthday's in December. March must be a very cold month every year :)

This is another birthday card for a friend to give to her sister. The paper is Making Memories, the arrow is October Afternoon from a free kit I got at a LSS. The little embellies (called Skittles by my scrappy sisters) and black ribbon are from Michael's.

The wording is rub ons. Don't you just love rub ons? TFL!

Birthday's are a HOOT!!

This card is for a friend's mom. The owl is a Stampabilities stamp. My stamp didn't work real well on the patterned paper, (it's textured) so I used my Kor-I-Nol black pencil to fill it in. The branch is from the Cricut Storybook cart. Paper is from some stash and I used the Fiskars threading water punch on the top. The branch and punched edge may look black on the pic, but they are brown. TFL!!

Dixie's Birthday...........(Yes, it's a dog!)

So, a friend asked me if I could make her some invitations for her dog's birthday party. Well, of course I said yes! So, Dixie is going to be one year old next month and I made 12 invitations for her party.

I used Paper Pups Cricut cartridge (borrowed from my BFF Julie), a paw punch and a few little embellies. The inside has the party info and a cute little bone at the bottom. Happy Birthday, Dixie! TFL!

Happy Birthday to you.......

This is a birthday card for a friend.

The pattern papers are from My Mind's Eye.

The ribbon and embellie were picked up at HL.

I scrap lifted this idea from the new "Cards"

magazine. I love that mag!! TFL!

Birthday for a friend.......

This card is for a friend of mine (her initial is B). I love the pink/black/white colors together. The branch was cut with the Cricut using the Storybook cart. TFL!

I've also used the great Martha Stewart branch punch. (LOVE that thing!!). Also included are some of the MS border punches, liquid pearls, glitter, cuttlebug embossing folders, some odd ribbons from HL and M's and of course.....my Cricut!! I have several more to make, but thought I would share some of the first bunch. TFL!!

Pink Christmas ???

Yes! It's the challenge this week at the Christmas All Year Round blog. We were asked to use pink and green, polka dots and 2 flowers on the card. I couldn't believe I had the perfect Christmas paper for this challenge! The patterned paper is all Paper Studio. The flowers are Greenhouse by American Crafts and the ribbon is some that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I ran the tree thru the Cuttlebug using the swirls embossing folder. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch around my greeting. This was fun! It's my first time to participate with Christmas All Year Round and I look forward to their next challenge. TFL!!

Monogrammed note cards........

I am working on 16 sets of note cards that I have sold. Here is a sample. I used the cricut - Mini Monograms to cut out the "T" and circle. I matted the negative space with black and added some black ribbon at the bottom. Simple - but kinda cute, I think. TFL!!

Happy Birthday, Josh!!

Today is my son Josh's 25th birthday. Josh is such a special person. He is the "peacekeeper" with all of his siblings, kindhearted, stubborn (like his dad), and very, very smart!! He passed his CPA exam the first time he took it! (Now how many people can do that?!). I am so glad he is a part of my world. He always makes me smile. Happy birthday, son. Love you!! (Oh, and here is the card that I made for him too).

Totally Random Challange

The challenge this week at Totally Random is "Squared". The pic and the layout must be squared. To start with, my LO is 8 X 8. Then, the pic is 4 X 4 and the little squares are 1 X 1. This is my niece, Merrill, who is now 8 months old. She visited my house last Saturday and we took lots and lots of pics of her! She is a little stinker! I just wonder.....who will she grow up to be? A doctor? A lawyer? A mom? Who knows?

Scrap Whispers Challenge - No Faces....

This is for the Scrap Whispers Challenge called "No Faces". This photo was taken on Mother's Day when my mom brought all of the other mom's roses. I love roses and these were just beautiful. I used black as my background so the red of the rose would really stand out. The large white rose on the page is glittered, but a little hard to see in the pic. I also outlined the perimeter with a thin black pen. Fun stuff!

2 Sketches 4 You Challenge

This card is for Kazan's sketch #11. This was a fun sketch! I had a birthday card to make for a 91 year young lady, so I thought I would use this one. The papers are Basic Grey, (which I love!) and the sentiment is from a Fancy Pants punch out sheet that I won at my LSS. I love using these colors this time of year. Thanks for stopping in!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jean!

This card is for my Aunt Jean who's birthday is tomorrow. This "stair step fold" is from Split Coast Stampers. I "scraplifted" this owl idea from "bahrnfuss" that posted her card on SCS. I used Basic Grey sugared-delicious paper and orange, brown and beige papers from HL. The owl is from the Cricut Storybook cartridge and the leaves are from the Cricut Walk In My Garden cart. I used the Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder on the leaves. The scallopes circles are from the Mini Monogram cart. The jewels are Harvest Crafts that I picked up on the clearance isle at HL along with the checkered ribbon. This fold was fun, but I did alter the dimensions a bit. The original dimensions made the card a little too small for me, so I altered it to fit an A2 envie. I won't be giving this card to my aunt until tomorrow, so shhhh!

So, these are some pages for a book I am working on for a friend. It's for a trip they took to their friend's beach house this summer. I have quite a ways to go, but thought I would share what I have so far. I've used the cricut for several die cuts, using Storybook, Walk In My Garden and Animal Kingdom. I've used the Storybook cartridge for most of the lettering. The red background is there because I took the pics on my dining room table. I've got to get better at taking these pics! Enjoy!

Sunday creations

I put this together this morning. It's for a friend who's birthday is on Halloween. Scary, huh? Anyway, I used the Cricut for the ghost and the Boo letters. The border on the bottom piece is using a paw punch. I'm not one of the lucky people that has the new MS dribble goo punch, so I had to improvise. The holes are the side were done using the new Tim Holtz ruler. It is ausome!! The inside will say something like....Birthday's are a scary thing!"

Another new beautiful creation in my family is my niece, Merrill. She is such a blessing to all of us and she is truly a miracle baby girl. My sister, Wendy, went thru years of doctor visits, medications and tests and was finally blessed with a pregnancy and eventually a perfect little princess. Introducing, my niece.........Merrill Francis.........

So, I decided to go ahead and post some of my creations from the past few months. I won't be showing all of them, but just a few. Alot of these were challenges from the Start a Scrapbook forum. I just love those ladies and I have such fun doing the challenges and just chatting with them about our favorite hobby. But I digress..........here are a few of my creations....
