Guest Designer @ Inspirational Card Sketches!

I am so honored to be the Guest Designer this week (and next week) at Inspirational Card Sketches! Dawn asked me to do this a couple of months ago and I'm just excited that she asked me. The design team at ICS does wonderful work and provides such inspiration each and every week. If you've never joined in the fun, you really should! I'm not sure why, but I'm really into making these baby cards lately. The lamb is a little sticker. Isn't she the cutest? I used my Cricut to cut the scalloped circles using Mini Monograms. I used my ScorPal for the lines on the pink cardstock. Baby was cut with the Cricut using Alaphalicious and the sentiment is computer generated. So, head on over to ICS and join in! July Challenge at Christmas Cards All Year Round is UP!

So, the July challenge at CCAYR is to use red, white and blue. I know, it seems strange for Christmas card colors, but believe me, it's very cool! I used some Friendly Forest paper, the Cricut, a beautiful flower that I won in some FAB blog candy from Ann, a little twine and a border punch for the white side border. Kazan's Sketch #29

Great sketch this week by Kazan at 2S4U. The DT over there has some real eye candy with this one, so be sure to go check it out! My card was made for a little lady that's turning 10. I love all these colors together and I think it will brighten her birthday. (at least I hope so!). I won these papers in some blog candy (yummy!) and I used the swirls CB folder on the circle. The little butterflies are an MS punch with a little bling added. The little girl's name is Claire, so I thought the sentiment with the C was perfect-o. The little flowers are Flora Doodles and the ribbon, button and twine are from my stash.

So, this week at 2S4U they are taking it down to the top 5 in the Ultimate Card Showdown. I can't hardly wait to see who wins the grand prize soon. "I've Been Framed" and CP#20

Well, I needed a last minute birthday card for a VERY special person and today's 365Cards and Card Patterns challenges fit the bill. Day #118 at 365 Cards is "I've Been Framed". You must use a frame on your card. The Card Patterns sketch lent me the opportunity to use scallops, so I used a scallop frame cut from Mini Monograms (Cricut). The papers were part of a pack that I won in some blog candy and I'm not sure who the mfg is, but I LOVE this paper!! The owl and branch were cut from the same paper. I added some cute pompom trim and a little bling for the owl eyes. The sentiment is computer generated. Guess who it's for? Thanks for stopping by today!

Day #65....Mother's Day card

I still have a few more Mother's Day cards to make for friends, so the challenge today at 365 Cards was perfect! One of the guys at work needed a card for his mom that didn't have alot of heavy embellishments, as he has to mail the card to his mom. I think this one fits the bill. The marquis was cut from Storybook (Cricut) and the scalloped circle was cut from Mini Monograms. Thanks for stopping by!

Recipe card, Maggie and a Wedding......(WHAT?!)

At 365 Cards today, it's recipe day. Here is the recipe:

5x5 card (solid colored card stock - may be smooth or textured)

4x4 patterned paper (you may alter the edges if you'd like)

1 shape (circle, square, star, heart, etc.) - must be solid color

3 jewels

Well, when I saw "1 shape", I knew what I wanted to use. I purchased these puzzle piece cards about 2 years ago and I've never used them. So, I took one piece out, glittered it up and attached it to the center of my card. This challenge may "look" simple, but it really was a challenge not to add more "stuff". So, here is my card..........

I'm getting a shadow in my pic because I only have one studio light now. (The other one is broken - see my last post). I cut the scalloped square using the Cricut and the Mini Monograms cartridge. Anyhoo...........Maggie is back this weekend!!!! YEA!!!! I don't normally get to see Mags twice in the same month, but my mom is getting married this weekend, so Maggie is coming for the wedding. My mom divorced some time ago and believe it or not she met up again with her very first love. They had not seen each other in 53 YEARS!! As soon as they layed eyes on each other, it was love all over again. So, tomorrow is the wedding and we are all very excited and happy for them. So, I may not get to post tomorrow, but I'll be back on Sunday for sure. Thanks for stopping by!

"Picture This" and Laura's sketch #24

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is "Picture This". The photo shown above was our inspiration and is just gorgeous. I recently bought the perfect paper to use for this one (at least I think it is). I used Laura's sketch #24 at 2S4U for this week (shown below). The patterned papers are Jenni Bowlin and Paper Studio. The ribbon is some that I picked up at Michael's. I used a circle sticker from Creative Cafe and backed it with a scalloped circle, cut with Mini Monograms. The sentiment is computer generated. Thanks for stopping by!

My first day on the Design Team!!!

Today starts my 3 month adventure as a DT member at Christmas Cards All Year Round and I'm so excited!! All of the 'ausome' DT ladies have posted some beautiful cards for our kick off. This is my DT card. The photo is from our Alabama snow we got in March this year. I cut the scalloped circles with Cricut's Mini Monograms cartridge and added a sticker in the center. Super Sketchy Sunday, Day #29

Today is Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Cards. I wasn't in a "pretty" mood today, so I did something a little bolder and brighter. All of the cuts were from my Cricut (Graphically Speaking & Mini Monograms). Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Buttons & Bows

It's buttons and bows at 365 Cards today. We are to use 3 bottons and 3 bows. I needed to do a birthday card for a friend who LOVES frogs. So, this is my take on today's challenge. The image is from Pink Petticoat. The scalloped circle was cut with the Cricut using the Mini Monograms cartridge. I'm not sure if the picture does this image justice. It has quite a bit of stickles on it and it really does shine. Thanks for stopping by today!

Shape Up!

Saturday's challenge at 365 was Shape Up! This week's shape is a circle. So, I cut a circle with the cut out's in it with my Cricut and the Mini Monograms cartridge. Then, I used up some ribbon scraps all around to fill in the cut out's. Then I added the little caterpillar from Cricut's Walk In My Garden cartridge. Well, on to today's challenge with 365. Stay tuned....

365 cards, Day #5

I'm back! It's a new day and day #5 at 365 Cards. Today we were asked to make a "quickie" Thank You card. Well, this card was made as quick as lightning! The pp is BoBunny - Homespun collection. The image is from Pink Petticoat (love those images!). So, I printed the image, cut it with my cricut and the mini monograms cartridge, scalloped circle in white and then in orange and then added a little color and some glitter. I attached it to my pp with some pop dots and adhered the pp to my card base. Then I added a ribbon and done! (It actually took me longer to tie the ribbon than anything! Card Box - 365 cards

Ok, the first challenge over at 365 Cards is to make a card box. I used my Mini Monograms Cricut cart to cut the scalloped circles. Then I used a little flower punch to dress them up a little. He Loves Me........

Here we go...........starting my Valentines Day cards. This one is for Kazan's sketch #16 over at 2Sketches4u. I thought I would kill 2 birds at a time by participating in some challenges while getting my cards done. The hearts are punched from the Martha Stewart punch. The scalloped circle is cut with the Cricut, using the Mini Monograms cartridge. TFL!

Monogrammed note cards........

I am working on 16 sets of note cards that I have sold. Here is a sample. I used the cricut - Mini Monograms to cut out the "T" and circle. I matted the negative space with black and added some black ribbon at the bottom. Simple - but kinda cute, I think. TFL!!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jean!

This card is for my Aunt Jean who's birthday is tomorrow. This "stair step fold" is from Split Coast Stampers. I "scraplifted" this owl idea from "bahrnfuss" that posted her card on SCS. I used Basic Grey sugared-delicious paper and orange, brown and beige papers from HL. The owl is from the Cricut Storybook cartridge and the leaves are from the Cricut Walk In My Garden cart. I used the Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder on the leaves. The scallopes circles are from the Mini Monogram cart. The jewels are Harvest Crafts that I picked up on the clearance isle at HL along with the checkered ribbon. This fold was fun, but I did alter the dimensions a bit. The original dimensions made the card a little too small for me, so I altered it to fit an A2 envie. I won't be giving this card to my aunt until tomorrow, so shhhh!
